Two Lines
Gallery is a collaborative project between
Kokoro Oriental Art, based in Paris, France and Stockholm, Sweden; and
Beijing¡¯s Pickled Art Centre. The Two Lines Gallery opened
early 2006 in the 798 area of the Dashanzi art district at the heart of the
Chinese capital. The name Two Lines Gallery refers to the
amalgamation of different tastes and artistic traditions.
Kokoro Oriental
Art has, since its start in 1988, been oriented
towards classical Chinese, Japanese and Korean art, while Pickled Art Centre
is, since 1999, a meeting place for contemporary art of the world.
Since the opening
of the gallery, we have done exhibitions as disparate as Chinese paintings of
today, Japanese Zen paintings from the 16th century, woodblock prints
by students at The Central Art Academy (CAFA) and The Ten Bamboo Studio, i.e.
prints from Nanjing in the early 17th century.
Our obective is
simply to show good art from yesterday and today, from east and west, by young
and old, unknown and famous: good art without borders!
